What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the most ancient (India originated) health care system in the world. It means Wisdom of Life.
It is defined as a system which uses inherent principles of nature, such as space, air, water, fire, earth, to help maintain health. The aim is to keep one’s physical, mental and spirit body in sync with nature, therefore keeping our connection with nature – connecting with our Source for perfect wellbeing.
This healthcare system consists of Ayurvedic massage treatments, nutritional and lifestyle consultations, incorporating meditation, detox, body balancing and the shirodhara treatment – all combined or individually offered to find a complete solution for health and wellbeing.
Ayur Veda is the most ancient health care system. It originated thousands of years ago and is practiced worldwide. Ayur Veda understands that life is twofold: the one aspect is the basis which is pure consciousness or energy and information. The other aspect is that which we perceive with our five sense and call it “the world”.
When consciousness manifests itself – it uses the five elements of space, air, fire, water and earth. They are expressed in everything in creation, from the minerals, the plans, the animals and human beings. Ayur veda combines the elements of space and air into the PRINCIPLE OF MOVEMENT. The element of fire with a little water makes the PRINCIPLE OF TRANSFORMATION and the earth and water element combine into the PRINCIPLE OF STRUCTURE.
In Sanskrit, they are called VATA or MOVEMENT, PITTA for TRANSFORMATION and KAPHA stands for STRUCTURE. The Ayurvedic Treatments (detox and balancing body massage, shirodhara and hot stone therapy) are all based on these five elements as explained above. The five elements representing the HUMAN BODY and then balancing the VATA, PITTA and KAPHA principle in and for the body.
